Bayview Park Hotel Manila Review

I will be spending a week here in Manila for a work related conference and my home for the next 5 days will be Bayview Park Hotel Manila.

I booked through TravelBook.Ph so I was able to get a discounted rate from my membership. You can actually search how to become a member of Travel Book. Nowadays, it is almost always cheaper to book online.

What I like about the hotel is its proximity to Ocean Park where you can bring your family for some entertainment. It is also a few steps away from Luneta Park for a quick jog in the morning.

Here are the other things that you need to know:

✔️Breakfast: The inclusion of breakfast will depend on the room rate that you choose. In case you need breakfast, be sure to double check your arrangements considering that some online bookings are misleading. Your rate may appear cheaper but it does not include breakfast and some taxes so you have to read before clicking that “pay” or “book” button.

If you are on a tipid mode and still choose to have the cheaper room rate without breakfast, worry not:

and buy cup noodles outside because 7Eleven is just a few steps away.

✔️Parking: I am actually disappointed that they don't have enough parking and if you are lucky to get one, it will be in an open parking space. I am not sure how safe it is. Considering that some of my colleagues stayed in a nearby hotel, I had to leave my car in their hotel for safety reasons.

✔️Room: Yung first room na binigay sa akin, when I opened the door, may kumalabog na parang nahulog sa ceiling. When I ask the room attendant about it, sabi niya unang buga lang daw ng aircon yun. I did not book a room with an aircon that has to make "unang buga".

But then there is this smell na hindi ko kaya.

The rooms are also quite old and smells of mold. More like "amoy paa" but maybe because of the carpet kaya nagpalipat ako sa ibang room. Medyo mas prinayoritize ko ang sense of smell ko kesa sense of sight this time.

I think I am also assigned in a room with a connecting door to another room and I don’t know how to feel about it.

Pero one thing is for sure, this painting of a full-grown pink flower is already 23 years old to this date. Sana buhay pa yun nagpinta dito, baka kasi balikan niya ito tonight.

Yung CR is okay naman pero not for the rate for that I paid, para siyang CR ng isang boarding house. 😦

Also…

Pero wala akong bathtub! So that leaves me with no choice but to “use them again”.

✔️Wifi/Internet: For as long as I can write a blog and upload photos through my phone, then that satisfies me. I do not know if each room has its own router but I’m pretty sure mine does.

✔️Customer Service: They are very accommodating. I initially requested for a room with a view and they gave me a room with an ocean view pero amoy paa talaga the room. I asked another favor to be transferred to another room kahit walang view and they gave me a room without a view, with queen sized bed and the good thing is it smells lesser “amoy paa” so I’m giving them an “ok” rate for the effort. For me, kahit gaano di kaganda ang amenities kung mababait ang staff, I am okay na.

Over all, I would recommend that you check first the hotel before booking.

I will survive the next 5 days!

But wait, there is more…

And before sleeping, I decided to watch TV pero hay…

remote does not have batteries? Am I in a room na walang gumamit for a month or even longer?

I requested for batteries, pagdating nung room attendant bringing with him batteries, sabi sa akin: “wala talagang laman?”. But the inner kindness in me says: “patience my dear”.

Kaya ayan. 🙂 Again, I know I will survive this.:)

Hehe.

Kina-umagahan, I called the operator kasi di pwede diretso sa frontdesk,

I was expecting her to transfer me pero they can make naman na the request so okay na. The conversation went like this:

Me: Goodmorning, saan pwede mag-request ng plantsa? (Expecting to be transferred kaya ganyan tanong ko)

Operator: Hmmm Ironing Board?

Me: (Silence and me to my self: Hindi ironing board, ironing table, yung 6 seaters, pang family)

Hindi na nila sinabi yung 30 minutes this time.

P.S.

Or I am not sure, ganito ba talaga dito or dito ba dinadala mga nagbobook online? Di naman siguro.

Note: My honest hotel reviews are not meant to discredit hotels where I stay but to help and inspire them upgrade their services and facilities.:)
