After my wife’s conference, we were supposed to go back to Baguio City but we thought of bringing our son to Manila Ocean Park considering na nandito na rin lang kami sa Manila.
Dahil pagod na ako at ayaw kong gabihin sa daan, we had to look for a place na matutulugan lang, kahit wala nang pool! Haha.
The nearest hotels were Manila Hotel and Hotel H2O but these hotels are those na titirhan ko lang kung work sponsored or a planned family vacation. Lol.
Ang pinakamalapit na naalala ko na affordable ay RED PLANET, they have several branches all over Manila and they have one in Ermita, just 1.4 kms away from Manila Ocean Park. The address is 1740 A. Mabini St., Malate, Manila.
I stayed in some of their branches before so I am somewhat familiar with their services. RED PLANET is one of the value hotels na nagustuhan ko talaga. They have this Remembered Program where you get 10% discount outright when you book through their app.
This will be the first time that I will take advantage of the said program kaya makikita natin kung mas makakamura tayo.
At para masiguro na mas mababa nga ang rate kapag nag book online, I inquired muna from the front desk kung ano ang current rate and after learning na mas mahal nga, I went ahead and completed my online booking which saved me a few hundreds that we can use to buy foods pa.
Red Planet is a value hotel that has the basic things that you need.
We booked a twin room double occupancy. As to the size of the beds, maliit lang talaga, pang-isahan. Had we known, we could have just requested to be booked in a room with one big bed.
If you are staying for work, they have a built in work table, you can use it for your laptop.
Depending on the mode of booking that you will use, you will spend around atleast P1700 to P2500 for the type of room that we booked in this specific property.
They have chinese breakfast but is not included in our booking. It is usually P250.00 per head so okay lang na sa labas na breakfast dahil maraming fastfood in the area.
None for kids. Robinsons Mall is just a block away though so that wouldn’t be a problem. Plus 1.4 kilometers away lang siya from Manila Ocean Park. 🙂
Internet is reliable, the same connection that I am using to complete this blog.
I am not sure if there is enough parking but good thing there was space for us when we arrived.
There are a lot of establishments in the area plus 7/11 on the ground floor so in case gutumin ka e hindi problema. The picture shown below is the hallway leading to the reception area, medyo tago kasi siya.
We had to walk going to Robinsons Mall kasi malapit lang siya, ganito itsura pag hapon pa pero pag-uwi namin ng gabi e red light district na pala siya. I did not take a picture na. Yun lang siguro yung downside, magulo kapag gabi pero di naman dinig kapag nasa loob ka na ng hotel.
If you are looking for a budget hotel na malapit lang sa Manila Ocean Park or malapit sa Roxas Boulevard, you can always try to check RED PLANET. Nothing fancy but you will have the well deserved comfort after a tiring day.
And when you book, compare rates! I noticed that I can always have it cheaper on line. Pero check niyo din kasi sometimes ang catch e walang breakfast.
Okies, till next hotel stay!!
